In one street in the neighborhood I used to live in when I was a kid there were always a lot of houses amazingly decorated for Halloween and there was also always one saturday where the kids could go trick or treating even though it isn’t necessarily a big thing here in Belgium. There was also a lot of snacks like pumpkin soup and various drinks that could be bought. I don’t think that street does it anymore now though, sadly enough. =/

When I was in college, my friends and I decided to trick or treat in the surrounding town. We didn’t really have money for costumes, so we just dressed up as each other and wore each others hats and jackets and stuff!

My favorite memory of Halloween is dressing up and going to the neighbour’s homes who made us special treats like fudge or candy apples because they knew we would be coming…. and we thought we had them fooled in our spook costumes. We lived in the country and we were only driven to about five homes around us. It’s kind of funny to think about now, but it was all good fun!

At the time it was the worst halloween but now my sister and I always laugh about it. We (my sister and I) dressed up to go out trick or treating and the first house we went to was next door. The only people in were the teenage son and daughter. They answered the door and said they would get our treat. Next minute the bathroom window upstairs above the door opened and they threw cold water on our heads closely followed by a bag of flour. We were so upset because it was our first house but now we find it so funny.
