This Tiny Perfect World by Lauren Gibaldi is a relatable story set in a small town. I will read pretty much any book about acting and any book that is set at camp. This Tiny Perfect World has both. I really enjoyed the message of this story, and the main character is believable. If you enjoyed Lauren Gibaldi’s other books, her latest instalment will not let you down.

Penny loves her small-town Florida life, and she has her future mapped out. She’s going to community college after graduation to stay close to home and her best friend, Faye. She’ll take over the family diner that her dad has been managing since her mother died. And one day, she’ll marry her high school sweetheart, Logan. But when she unexpectedly lands a scholarship to a prestigious summer theater camp, she is thrust into a world of competition and self-doubt. And suddenly, her fu-ture gets a little hazy. As she meets new friends, including Chase, a talented young actor with big-city dreams, she begins to realize that maybe the life everyone (includ-ing her) expects her to lead is not the one she was meant to have.

Reveiw: This Tiny Perfect WOrld by Lauren Gibaldi

This book tells the story of a small-town girl who spends her summer at a theatre camp. Her future is pretty much mapped out for her, and she is expected to stay in her hometown forever and inherit her family’s diner. However, while she’s away at camp, she realizes that she might have even bigger dreams and that staying at home might not be what she wants to do with her life. I am such a sucker for any book about the arts, so This Tiny Perfect World was very enjoyable for me. I loved the themes of family and how believable the story is. This is the perfect book to curl up with this spring.

Realistic Main Character

I really enjoyed the main character, Penny. She is so realistic, and her conflicted feelings about her future are relatable. Penny is optimistic and determined to become a better actress, and her friends help her progress. She really matures throughout the book, and watching her figure out her goals is inspiring. I didn’t really like how the love triangle played out in this book, but overall, I found Penny to be a likeable character.

Relatable Story

This Tiny Perfect World by Lauren Gibaldi is a relatable story about acting and self-discovery. I loved the main character and her transformation throughout the book. If you love acting books like I do, I would definitely recommend this one.

Book Quotes: This Tiny Perfect World by Lauren Gibaldi

BOOK BEGINNING

I rest my head on Logan’s shoulder a we watch the first summer sunset. The Florida air is thick, hot like the sidewalk we’re sitting on, but that doesn’t keep us from staying outside.

FRIDAY 56

I look around and there are about twenty people here, mostly girls, more than likely all out for the same part as me. I look down at my script, then at them.
