Summer Days and Summer Nights by Stephanie Perkins (editor) is the summery book companion to My True Love Gave to Me. This anthology has something from almost every genre and is very diverse. I especially enjoyed Veronica Roth’s and Jennifer E. Smith’s stories. Though I liked this one, I enjoyed the first winter themed anthology more.

book Review: Summer Day and Summer Nights
Summer Days and Summer Nights literally has a story for everyone. I’m pretty sure that there is something from every genre in this book. I especially loved how no two stories are alike, since reading the same old contemporary can get boring. If you’re looking for something different that is a fairly quick read, this is definitely the book for you.
❀ Many Diverse Stories
I really enjoyed all the diversity in Summer Days and Summer Nights. There are stories with LGBT couples and mental health awareness, such as autism. I actually haven’t seen too many YA books out there that are about autism, so this really interested me. I feel like the diversity in the book made everything more realistic. Each story features a new set of characters, and of course, not everyone you meet is going to be white, for example. I always appreciate a nice, diverse story, and this anthology was definitely one of them.
❀ Inertia is a favourite
I always find it difficult to review anthologies because each story is different, and not every story is for everyone. Instead of discussing each individual story, I feel like it would be better to just highlight my personal favourites. I adored Veronica Roth’s story, Inertia. This one is a sci-fi, I believe, that is about a girl who relives her favourite memories with her best friend as he is about to die through a special program. It is honestly classic Veronica Roth, which is why I loved it so much. Out of all the stories, I would have to say that my favourite is A Thousand Ways This Could All Go Wrong by Jennifer E. Smith. This is the story about a boy with autism, and I found it so cute and inspiring. It also takes place at a summer camp, a setting that I always enjoy.
❀ Something for Everyone
Summer Days and Summer Nights by Stephanie Perkins (editor) is an anthology with something for everyone. There is so much diversity in this anthology, which I really appreciated. My favourite stories were Inertia by Veronica Roth and A Thousand Ways This Could All Go Wrong by Jennifer E. Smith. I would recommend this book to everyone, as there is definitely at least a couple stories that each person will enjoy.

I loved My True Love to Me more than Summer Days and Summer Nights too but I did enjoy a few stories in this anthology. Lev Grossman’s short story was my favorite.
I always find anthologies difficult to review, There is usually quite a mix of stories and some that are more appealing than others, for sure.

I agree with you, this was a good book but nowhere near the first one. My personal favorites were Leigh Bardugo and Stephanie Perkins’ stories, though I might be a little biased because they’re two of my favorite authors. You did a great job on this review!
