Tidbit Tuesday #4: Duologies and Cover Reveals

Banner for Tidbit Tuesday

Tidbit Tuesday is a feature on The Candid Cover spotlighting and reviewing bookish events, news and bits of books.

I don’t know about you, but I get really excited about announcements for duologies because they are my favourite type of series. It is exciting to know that there will be more to come in a well-loved series, yet the commitment to read the next part is just one more book.

If you are a fan of Marie Lu, you will be thrilled to know that there is now a release date for Warcross and we now have a summary! Although the cover is still to come for this one, the excitement that I have for this series is growing daily.

Julie C. Dao took to Twitter last week and shared 3 amazing announcements  about her duology, Rise of the Empress. I love this title and I think that this series sounds incredibly epic with its ties to the Evil Queen legend in an East Asian fantasy. How awesome does that sound?

There were also a few cover reveals last week and I must say that all of them are stunning! First of all, Elly Blake revealed the US and UK covers for the second book in The Frostblood Saga. I have yet to read the first book, Frostblood, but it is receiving some wonderful reviews and I think that this book is going to be similar to Aveyard’s Red Queen series.

Another gorgeous and intriguing cover was revealed over on YA Books Central for Gray Wolf Island  by debut author Tracey Neithercott. This book has a theme of friendship and searching for treasure. We will have to wait until October 2017 for it to be released, but if you head over to YA Books Central, there is a giveaway running for a signed ARC!

There’s something so satisfying about completing a series, so naturally I LOVE duologies. I can’t wait for the cover real for Forest of a Thousand Lanterns. I feel like it’s going to be so beautiful.

The UK Cover of Fireblood is WONDERFUL! And I love the cover for Gray Wolf Island, too! I wish that more authors opted for duologies. That way, there isn’t quite as much waiting for the end of a series to find out what happens, and it also means that the authors are freed up to start new stories with awesome new worlds and new characters to fall in love with!

I like the cover on Gray Wolf Island and I like the title, partly, I think because Gray Wolf is a character in a book I’m reading by Jodi Picoult called Second Glance. Thanks for sharing these.
