Tidbit Tuesday #1: Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth

Tidbit Tuesday is a feature on The Candid Cover spotlighting and reviewing bookish events, news and bits of books.

Happy New Year! I have been racking my brain for a new feature on the blog to start off the new year. There are so many things that are whizzing past us online that sometimes we don’t always catch bookish news items or happenings in the book world. If I discover a newsworthy item, I will try to share it with you here. Sometimes I might even share a tidbit from the latest book that I am reading. This feature will be a little potpourri of book related posts that I hope you will enjoy!

There are actually quite a few exciting things happening in the next few months if you are excited about meeting YA authors. The only event that is happening near me so far is Veronica Roth’s Carve the Mark Tour!

I am so stoked for this event! If you have not had the chance to attend a signing and you are a fan of Veronica Roth and the Divergent series, I highly suggest trying to go to this. Veronica Roth is so witty and insightful. The last time that I met her in Toronto was such a whirlwind and exciting experience that I will never forget.

Carve the Mark is bound to be epic! A science fiction novel that is set in space is so intriguing to me. I have such high hopes for this series and I have a pretty good feeling that it won’t disappoint. Incidentally, there is a preorder campaign where you can receive a copy of We Can’t Be Mended (the epilogue to Divergent)!

On Twitter and the Epic Reads blog, there are also daily celebration posts leading up to the book’s release! So far, there are some pretty spaced out recipes and an awesome post that details all that you need to know about Carve the Mark! Follow along with #CarvetheMarkCountdown to learn more.

What bookish tidbits have you discovered lately?

Woodstock, GA is not too far! Surprising, considering there aren’t a lot of events anywhere CLOSE to where I live. And this is one author that I would love to meet!

I’m looking forward to this one too! I’m so mad there’s an event for it in Nashville, but half a year before I move to that area. Argh!
