Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo is a book about heists, and contains six amazing main characters that you can’t help but love. There are so many beautiful descriptions in the story and moments of humour that made it so entertaining. I would say that Six of Crows is one of the best books of the year for sure!

Book Review: Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Six of Crows is a heist book, which I absolutely adored. I always seem to love heist stories for some reason. Reading about the characters’ carefully devised plans was so entertaining for me and I was on the edge of my seat the whole time wondering if they were going to get caught. What I enjoyed the most about this book is the fact that it is so original. Sure, there are other heist books out there, but in this one, the characters attempt to sneak into a prison. There is so much in this book that makes it absolutely incredible, but it’s hard to describe it all without spoiling.
❀ Six Main Characters
The characters in Six of Crows are also among my favourite aspects of the story. There are six main characters that are all pretty different, but together, they make this incredible squad. I don’t know how, but even though there are six important characters, they each have such complex backstories and personalities. Each of the characters gets a perspective in the story, so there is no chance that the reader will be bored with the same narrator all the time. There are so many options that I’m sure that there is a character for everyone!
❀ Amazing Writing
Leigh Bardugo is honestly a writing master. She has this way of weaving backstory throughout the novel and creating these mind-blowing plot twists. Six of Crows also has such vivid descriptions of Ketterdam and the characters that they truly come to life. What I really enjoy about Leigh Bardugo’s writing style is the fact that she is able to bring so much humour into her books while they remain pretty dark. It’s been a while since a book made me laugh out loud, and this made the story so much more fun to read.
❀ Amazing Heist Story
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo is an amazing action-packed heist story with a loveable cast of characters. This fantasy book is so well-written and filled with backstory. If you are like me and have been pushing this book back on your TBR, definitely move it to the top!

I tried reading this the other day, but stopped at Chapter 3, but I think that was purely because I wasn’t particularly in the mood for YA. I’ve heard so many good things that I’ll be trying it again soon.

I never thought I’d actually read SoC, but I won a giveaway so I was like, “This is fate.” And while it was slow at times, I ended up loving it a lot! Yes to the squad! They were so great together and I can’t wait to see what happens in the sequel! I’ll probably have to wait to read it, though so I hope I don’t get spoiled. I’m glad you loved this one 🙂
