Summer TBR Wipeout 2016 Update #1

It is hard to believe that we are half-way through the month of July already! We are into our third week of the challenge and I have visited some amazing blogs and posts. Some of you have so many books on your list that I am a little bit envious for some reason! I haven’t had much time for reading this month as I was busy being an interpreter at a pioneer village and have been on holidays in Atlantic Canada. You would think that I would get lots of reading accomplished, but I was too busy exploring!

Some of the books that I read for this first part of the challenge are:

  • The Siren was a really enjoyable book! I always love Kiera Cass, so I wasn’t surprised at all to have loved it so much. If you would like to know more of my thoughts on it, my review will be up very soon!
  • Yellow Brick War was one of my most anticipated reads for this year. I have enjoyed all of the other books in the Dorothy Must Die series by Danielle Paige and this third book is just as incredible. I was so surprised to find out that a fourth book is in the works, as I thought it was to be a trilogy. My review for this one will be up at the end of the month.
  • Miss. Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs is a re-read for me. I did not have a blog when I originally read this fantastic story and I wanted to read it again to properly review it before the upcoming film. I am so excited to see this story brought to life! A full review will be posted on the blog in August.
  • The Conspiracy of Us is not a title that I had originally planned for this challenge, but I had started the audiobook back in March and had it sitting on my Goodreads shelf forever. Since I was on the road quite a bit this month, it was the perfect time to finish it! Watch for my review of this interesting story in August as well.
  • Before I Fall is another audiobook that I snuck in over my holidays. Lauren Oliver is another favourite author of mine and this audiobook was sitting on my Audible wish list. I couldn’t resist giving it a try as well. I am so glad that I did because it is a wonderful book! Look for it in my August reviews.

So, while things went a little different than I planned, I had an enjoyable and successful couple of weeks. My next reading goals for the rest of the month are to read the entire Grisha series and Burning Glass. You can always check the books that I am reading for this challenge on my Goodreads shelf. Wish me luck!

Wow! You’re doing great. I haven’t made quite as much progress. Miss Peregrine is sitting on my shelf waiting to be read…maybe later this summer. I’ve got a bunch of driving coming up as well so I should see what I can find for audiobooks. Hope you had a great vacation!
