Summary (from Goodreads):

The magic and suspense of Graceling meet the political intrigue and unrest of Game of Thrones in this riveting fantasy debut.

Your greatest enemy isn't what you fight, but what you fear.

Elizabeth Grey is one of the king's best witch hunters, devoted to rooting out witchcraft and doling out justice. But when she's accused of being a witch herself, Elizabeth is arrested and sentenced to burn at the stake.

Salvation comes from a man she thought was her enemy. Nicholas Perevil, the most powerful and dangerous wizard in the kingdom, offers her a deal: he will save her from execution if she can break the deadly curse that's been laid upon him.

But Nicholas and his followers know nothing of Elizabeth's witch hunting past--if they find out, the stake will be the least of her worries. And as she's thrust into the magical world of witches, ghosts, pirates, and one all-too-handsome healer, Elizabeth is forced to redefine her ideas of right and wrong, of friends and enemies, and of love and hate.

Virginia Boecker weaves a riveting tale of magic, betrayal, and sacrifice in this unforgettable fantasy debut.

Book Review: The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker

The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker surprised me in the best way possible. This fantasy book is so action-packed and incorporates prophecies and curses. The main character is also very determined and brave. I definitely wish that I had gotten the chance to read this book sooner.

❀ Super Fast-Paced

The Witch Hunter is a super fast-paced book! The plot never slows as Elizabeth and her squad run from the witch hunters while trying to undo a curse at the same time. I loved how much action and suspense was in the novel. The reader definitely gets their fix of fighting and blood, but also magic and mystery.

❀ An Ultimate Fantasy

I honestly believe that The Witch Hunter is the ultimate book for fantasy fans. Not only are there witches and wizards, but Virginia Boecker has incorporated curses and prophecies, which I absolutely adored. I really enjoyed watching the pieces fit together as Elizabeth slowly begins to understand her own prophecy. I’m a sucker for books about prophecies and I was pleasantly surprised to see one in this book.

❀ An Epic Main Character

Elizabeth is such an epic main character in The Witch Hunter. This former witch hunter has determination, sass, and intelligence, all of which I love in a character. Elizabeth questions everyone and everything and is always one step ahead. I am a big fan of characters who can fight to protect those they love, so I fell in love with Elizabeth from page one.

❀ Perfect for Fantasy Fans

The Witch Hunter by Virginia Boecker is an action packed, fight-filled novel that is perfect for fantasy fans. The main character is sassy and brave and just plain likeable. If you are like me and have waited so long to read this book, I strongly recommend that you pick it up as soon as possible!
