Waiting on Wednesday #56: The Last Star by Rick Yancey

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

This week’s book:

16131489Title: The Last Star
Author: Rick Yancey
Publisher: G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books for Young Readers
Publication Date: May 24, 2016

Summary (from Goodreads): We’re here, then we’re gone, and that was true before they came. That’s always been true. The Others didn’t invent death; they just perfected it. Gave death a face to put back in our face, because they knew that was the only way to crush us. It won’t end on any continent or ocean, no mountain or plain, jungle or desert. It will end where it began, where it had been from the beginning, on the battlefield of the last beating human heart.

Master storyteller Rick Yancey invokes triumph, loss, and unrelenting action as the fate of the planet is decided in the conclusion to this epic series.

I am so, so, so excited for this one! I absolutely loved the other books in The 5th Wave series, and have been waiting for this final instalment. I am certain that this will be the perfect conclusion to the trilogy, and I can’t wait to experience it for myself!

I just bought the first two books in this series yesterday! I really, really want to get to them before this book comes out so that I’m caught up, I’ve heard mixed things about the series, but I still want to give it a go. I hope I love it.

I love the covers of this series. I have mixed feelings about this series, mostly due to the mixed reactions I’ve heard from others. But I’m still willing to give this a go. #dontjudgeabookbyitsmovie
