Review: Lost Ocean Coloring Book

❀ Great for non-artists

As a non-artist, Lost Ocean provided me with a sense of artistic skill. I found the drawings to be detailed, yet simple to colour. There are differing levels of difficulty in some of the designs that allow the artist to decide the commitment level for each colouring session.

❀ Hidden Objects in Lost Ocean Coloring Book

Another aspect of this book that makes it so enjoyable are the hidden objects throughout the book to colour and discover. At the beginning of the colouring book, there is a legend of hidden treasures and trinkets to be found. From magic potions to messages in bottles, the reader will be kept busy searching for these fun items while colouring away.

❀ Relaxing

Lost Ocean Coloring Book by Johanna Basford makes time simply fly by! It was certainly a relaxing and wonderful distraction for me this holiday season to sit and colour for a few hours at the end of a busy day. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys relaxing through artistic methods.

I like Lost Ocean a lot, but I have to admit I’m not as enamoured with it as I was with her previous two titles — Secret Garden and Enchanted Forest. I WANTED to be because I love sea creatures, but I think a lot of the images are actually too detailed to be practical with even a fine-liner pen. The paper quality also isn’t as good.

I do love her some of the pictures though, and Joanna Basford is pretty much a genius <3

I love colouring books, especially ones that feature the tiny little details in which to colour in! That’s why this looks absolutely amazing to me and now I am all grabby-hands for it!
    Great post!

Oh man! This is so cool. I mean, I’ve seen this coloring book and I know that adult coloring books are super popular, but you were given on as an ARC to review?! Haha! How awesome! ^.^ Best ARC you’ve received or has an actual book surpassed this?
