I am so glad to be participating in the Something Strange and Deadly Read Along! I have honestly wanted to read this book for so long, but have never been able to find the time. I finally have the chance to read it, and I am really enjoying it. Just a warning for those of you who have yet to read Something Strange and Deadly, there may be some mild spoilers below. Here are my discussion question answers for the first half of the book:

Question 1:
What do you think about the Dead? Are you glad it isn’t too Zombie-ish, or were you hoping for a more Zombie-esque theme?

I’m actually glad that the Dead aren’t so zombie-like! I am pretty new to the paranormal/zombie genre, so it’s nice being slowly eased into it.

Question 2:
What was your favorite part of the first half of the book and why?

My favourite part of the book so far is the séance. Everything was sort of chaotic and I found it to be very entertaining and frightening at the same time!

The seance scene was my fave too! And even though I’m not a big fan of zombies, I really liked how Sooz approached them in this – they focus was more on the beings that had some plan and drive instead of reanimated dead who just roam around.

  2. Jaime Lynn says:

I love that there are some frightening aspects! It makes me want to read this book even more than I did before! The only thing is, I hope that the zombies are different than the normal zombie. I have read a whole lot of zombie!

  3. Hannah says:

I’m not a huge zombie fan which was why I put this book off for so long – much to my book buddy’s disgust! Once I read the book though I fell completely in love with it. Historical combined with badass female characters was a win – and the Dead weren’t bad at all!
