Trouble is a Friend of Mine by Stephanie Tromly is a comical book filled with mystery. It contains an intelligent main character who is a very amusing narrator for the book. However, there are a few parts of the book that made me uncomfortable while reading and made me consider whether to continue reading on.

❀ Filled With Humour
First of all, Trouble is a Friend of Mine is filled with humour. As the main character, Zoe, and her friend Digby attempt to find a missing teen, they encounter many foes and defeat them in a very entertaining manner. The humour in this book definitely helps distract the reader from the fact that the book is all about a missing person, and really helps move the plot along.
❀ Quirky Main Character
I really liked Zoe as a main character for Trouble is a Friend of Mine. She is very quirky and she and Digby are great at coming up with plans together. Zoe is also a relatable character, as her parents are divorced and she isn’t very close with her mom. Although she isn’t the best role model, she brings a lot of amusement to the book.
❀ A Disturbing Story
I found a few parts of Trouble is a Friend of Mine to be disquieting and made me uncomfortable while reading. Part of the plot consists of a gynecologist who is filming patients secretly, one of whom is Zoe’s mom. I found this to be unnecessary to the book and also pretty disturbing. Due to this scene, I didn’t enjoy this book as much as I might have.
❀ A Good Mystery
Trouble is a Friend of Mine by Stephanie Tromly is a witty book that contains main character who is clever and relatable. There are some disturbing elements in this book that I really did not enjoy, however. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery and can handle content that is more mature in nature.

I think that this one is probably not one that I would enjoy. I am glad that you were able to enjoy it, even though it made you uncomfortable. That would definitely make me uncomfortable, I tell ya!
