❀ Beautifully Written
This beautifully written novel will draw you in, engage you and then leave you breathless! More Happy Than Not is definitely a book that deals with some tough and depressing situations. However, it is so uplifting that readers will feel vindicated. The plot of the book is so unexpected and full of twists. Adam Silvera’s writing style is so incredible that this book will be near impossible to put down.
❀ Realistic Main Character
Aaron, the protagonist is one of those characters that you instantly fall in love with. Silvera has portrayed Aaron so realistically. Aaron deals with so many heartbreaking things that no one should ever have to go through. He also has a few flaws that make him absolutely relatable. In addition, Aaron has an excellent voice, making him the perfect narrator for More Happy Than Not.
❀ Diverse
The diversity in More Happy Than Not blew me away. Not only is Aaron dealing with the fact that he is gay, but his family is struggling financially. There are definitely quite a few books these days in the LGBTQ genre, but none that I am aware of that address the issue of poverty. I found this to be a very profound and eye-opening piece to the story. Books that teach and explore different lifestyles are so important and refreshing.

More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera is so well-written and has such an incredible message. If you enjoyed Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli, you will definitely enjoy this book.
