Teaser Tuesdays #1: Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of A Daily Rhythm. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Today’s Teaser Tuesday:

Book cover for Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver.
Summary (from Goodreads):

New York Times bestselling author Lauren Oliver delivers a gripping story about twosisters inexorably altered by a terrible accident.

Dara and Nick used to be inseparable, but that was before the accident that left Dara’s beautiful face scarred and the two sisters totally estranged. When Dara vanishes on her birthday, Nick thinks Dara is just playing around. But another girl, nine-year-old Madeline Snow, has vanished, too, and Nick becomes increasingly convinced that the two disappearances are linked. Now Nick has to find her sister, before it’s too late.

In this edgy and compelling novel, Lauren Oliver creates a world of intrigue, loss, and suspicion as two sisters search to find themselves, and each other.

“Alarming and uplifting, a rare psychological thriller that has a kind heart at its center. Read it with all the lights on.” — E. Lockhart, author of We Were Liars.

Here are the teasers!

#1: “Words scroll across the bottom of the screen: Cops Launch Massive Search for Missing Nine-Year-Old…”

#2: “The only thing I was ever better at than Dara was being ordinary.”

These teasers are actually as much as a tease for you as they are for me! I haven’t quite started this one yet, but I will be very shortly.

If you have done a Teaser Tuesday yourself, leave a comment below with a link and I will be sure to check it out. 🙂

I hope you enjoy that one! I have read that one. It moved a bit slowly for me in places, but the ending blew me away! It was crazy surprising.
