Summary (from Goodreads):

He never noticed her before, but now she’s all he can see…

Miles Carlisle is every teen girl’s fantasy. His rugged good looks and exotic British accent have helped catapult his boy band, Seconds to Juliet, to super-stardom. But after two disastrous and very public breakups, Miles isn’t interested in dating just any girl; he wants The One. And the only girl he’s interested in is not only his best friend’s little sister―and off-limits―but won’t even give him the time of day…

As a kid, Aimee Bingham had a huge thing for Miles…until he made fun of her for always tagging along. Now that she’s outgrown both him and her pigtails. the prospect of spending two weeks on tour with the childhood crush who broke her heart isn’t exactly enticing. Except now Miles seems interested. Very interested. And no matter how hard Aimee tries to resist him, her crush is definitely making a comeback.

But everyone knows that falling for a heartthrob is a backstage pass to heartbreak…

Review: Aimee and the Heartthrob by Ophelia London

❀ Musical Book

Aimee and the Heartthrob is a very musical book. It tells the story of Aimee, who is stuck going on tour with a band called Seconds to Juliet. With each chapter, I learned more and more about what it’s like to be on tour, and what it’s like to be insanely popular and busy. It also emphasizes that reporters and the press are extremely irritating. This book has many references to Prince as well, which was interesting!

❀ Lots of Drama

I loved all the drama in Aimee and the Heartthrob! One of the main characters, Miles, has some anger management issues . This is an interesting character trait that  adds quite a few issues for the other characters to work out. I won’t spoil too much, but let’s just say, one overprotective brother + one strict manager + one forbidden romance = a recipe for disaster.

❀ Amazing Setting

The setting in Aimee and the Heartthrob is unlike anything I’ve ever read. It takes place on multiple tour busses creatively named after songs by the fictional band, Seconds to Juliet. Since the band is on tour, many different cities and stadiums are included. I love when there are multiple locations and destinations in a book!

❀ Perfect for YA fans

Aimee and the Heartthrob by Ophelia London is perfect for fans of YA and music.  It is such a light and refreshing read that the reader won’t soon forget!

About Ophelia London

Ophelia London

USA Today bestselling author Ophelia London was born and raised among the redwood trees in beautiful northern California. Once she was fully educated, she decided to settle in Florida, but her car broke down in Texas and she’s lived in Dallas ever since. A cupcake and treadmill aficionado (obviously those things are connected), she spends her time watching arthouse movies and impossibly trashy TV, while living vicariously through the characters she writes.

I love books and shows/movies about the music life or even just the famous lifestyle, I find it fascinating how not-all-glamorous it can be. This sounds like a really fun story overall, too! Glad you liked it! Great review! 🙂
